Vietnam is very famous for its breathtaking landscape, especially Northern Vietnam. There are many wonderful places which should be visited once traveling to Vietnam. Below are our suggestions for your trip in the winter
Sapa (Lao Cai)
Sapa is one of the most attractive places in the winter. The temperature is quite low from 2oC to 5oC, and it will go down to 0oC at night when it can be frozen. Traveling to Sapa in the cold days, you can enjoy the stunning beauty of so-called “foggy land”, see very thick fog layer, or experience the extreme cold and enjoy tasting foods.
If you are lucky, you can see snow which will change all streets and house roofs to white. On the top of Fansipan (at the height of 3,143 meters) of Hoang Lien Son mountain range, located 9 km from Sapa. The snow is very thick.

Ha Giang
Ha Giang is one of the best places for winter holiday. The best time to travel to Ha Giang is from October to December when Tam Giac Mach flowers (triangle oat) blossom. Therefore, you will have wonderful photo shots. If you travel during the coldest period, you can see snow in Meo Vac. Food in Ha Giang is much diversified such as, Thang Co (a specialty of H’mong ethnic minority) with the flavor of herbs and citronella, or enjoying other tasting dishes including five-color sticky rice and caltrops soup…

Moc Chau
If you love the yellow color of mustard greens, let visit Moc Chau from November to February. At that time, you will see the vast of yellow mustard greens field which is impressive to visitors and has become an ideal place for winter holidays. Besides, between January and February, it is the time of peach and plum flowers blossom which make the scenery more beautiful.

Mau Son (Lang Son)
The top of Mau Son is also one of the most attractive places to visitors. This is the high mountainous area of Lang Son which has a diversified terrain at the altitude of 800 – 1000 meters above the sea level including a population of 80 small and big mountains with the highest peak of Phia Po (1,541 meters – locally known as Cong Son)
There are two distinctive seasons in the mountainous area of Mau Son. Winter lasts from November to March of which temperature is 6oC to 13oC, and can go down to minus. The top of Mau Son is covered by cloud all year round. The best time to enjoy the stunning beauty is from late December to early January. This mountain is the home of some ethnic minorities such as, Dzao, Nung, Tay…During winter period, you can enjoy some specialties such as, Tuyet Son green tea, roosters with 6 spurs, frogs, grilled pork, Mau Son rice wine, bell shaped peach...

Tam Dao
Tam Dao is very impressive for its three pristine and grandiose mountains in summer, fall and spring; but in the winter the scenery is more marvelous, fanciful and romantic. If you travel to Mau Son during this time, do not forget to explore the mountain peaks to enjoy the challenge or to take a panoramic view of the area.

Mai Chau, Hoa Binh
During the winter, it is not too cold in Mai Chau like the mentioned places. However, the scenery is quite tranquil and beautiful. Besides, there are many wonderful places for your exploration or conquering such as, Hoa Binh hydropower plant, Doi (bat) cave…If you have enough time, let visit Thung Nai, Da Bac cave or soaking in natural hot spring of Kim Boi…
